Give

to restore broken families, and help our residents regain their purpose in society.

Yes, there might be easier causes to give to, but your support helps us serve a group that is often stigmatised by society. Would you make a gift today?

Why Give?

Here's the resistance you can overcome, and the change you're making.

You're making a safer Singapore for your children.

The statistics don't lie. Because of social media, more youths are getting exposed to drugs, and vape. The seeming 'fun' and 'harmlessness' of these substances may lead to youths trying it out of curiosity.

When you give to our work, you're helping to

When you give to our work, you support the work we do in raising awareness amongst the public and the young, such as through Ride to Restore.

You build a better Singapore, for this, and the next generation.

How your giving also supports the reduction of drugs being pushed on the streets

  • Residents are emplaced
  • Residents go through work, counselling, devotion, and exercise.
  • Residents return back to society.

You build lasting change for our residents.

We know that when residents come to us, they face many complex issues. Family struggles. Finding dignified work. Schooling for their children.

All of them want to change, but may struggle to know how to. Some have been through incarceration many times, and are at a point of despair. With us, we try to build a home where they feel safe, and a sense of belonging and camaraderie that sustains their change.

You help the wider family.

We often forget that the resident also has a mother that loves him, and children that miss him. We've been organising Family Support Groups over the past year, to repair the familial relationships that will be with them when they are home.

This is the face behind your giving

Richard Khalil  Head of Chaplaincy

In 1996, Richard came into The Helping Hand, not as a staff, but as a resident. He had been caught for drug consumption. He had been in and out from the Drug Rehabilitation Centre for 4 times. It seemed like nothing would change.

Then he found The Helping Hand. It became a safe refuge for him, not just being a place where he could rest, or build a better community, but also to find God again.

Our work here transforms lives. You too, can, with your giving.

We Rehabilitate Differently.

We run Family Support Groups as we believe in the power of family to make lasting change.

A few months ago, one young 28 year old resident shared, "Despite me going in and out several times, my mum still loves me a lot. She hasn't given up on me."

No one comes into the programme, alone. But we know that because of a person's substance abuse, family relations can end up strained, and broken. Through our monthly family support groups, we try to repair the ruptures in family relationships, so the family can support the resident again.

We build lasting friendships for our residents so they do not return to negative influences that lead them to vices.

We know that every resident that leaves us, faces the proverbial fork in the road. Do they look for their old friends? And if they don't, who can they look for? We build them new friends through church. Through exercise groups. We intentionally build belonging through an ecosystem approach.

We use exercise to encourage natural 'highs' and move away from artificial highs.

We know that finding natural highs, after you've had the taste of artificial ones, can be difficult. So each week, we take our residents out to run. We organise football for them. We want them to build the natural habits of exercise.

Give

to rebuild lives, families, and restore hope.

If you would like to give, why not give monthly to consistently nurture the lives of those we serve?
